It's Great to be 8!

In the LDS religion, being baptized is such an exciting time! L was very ready to dress up in her special baptism dress and get her pictures taken for her special day. Her parent's chose to have this session at the Bountiful LDS Temple in Bountiful, Utah.

January sessions can be tricky sometimes with the weather, but we lucked out! In Salt Lake, Davis, and Weber Counties, we often have a sickly inversion in the air during the winter. This week was exceptionally bad, but Saturday we woke up to the air being a lot more clear! Score!! The sun was shining and we were ready!

Since it was still cold in the shade, we began our session in the shady areas first, before the sun started setting and the temps dropped even more. I let L put her coat on as much as possible to stay warm, but she barely even acted like the chill was bothering her. She was such a trooper! Then we moved to areas where the sun was shining and we could capture the gorgeous golden hour light and bask in the last little bit of warmth before nighttime took over. It was lovely.

What a beautiful girl she is! That long, dark hair contrasting with her gorgeous white dress was everything! And those eyes!! We talked about Bluey, summer vacations, and how excited she is to be baptized. The temple wasn't too busy with patrons and we even had some spots on the grounds to ourselves. We finished in about 40 minutes and she left with a smile on her face and feeling like a princess. I love spending time with young children and helping them have a great time.
